7.2 Licensing modules

In demo mode you can work with "real" data and explore TIS-Office. Only the

"Scanner" module's functions are limited. The data you have entered is still

available when TIS-Office and the desired modules are licensed. Please note

that after a period of 40 days you can no longer access the data.

Software keys need not be entered if you have installed a new TIS-Office

software version (update).

Follow these steps to enter a licensed software key:

To license the modules the dongle (copy protection) must be connected to the

computer on which the stand-alone version is installed or to the server

computer.

Tip

Back up the TIS-Office database and save the backup file. To do this, start TIS-

Office ToolBox and select the "Backup" function. You will find a detailed

description of the steps to follow in the ToolBox User Guide.

Before licensing the program, delete all "virtual" data that you have entered to

test and explore TIS-Office. This applies in particular to any test data stored for

the "Scanner" module.

1 Connect the dongle to a free USB port if you want activate further modules – in

addition to the "Basic" module.

The dongle must always be connected when using licensed TIS-Office

modules. Please also refer to Chapter 2 "Requirements".

Important

The following section describes the steps for licensing the "Basic" module and

any other modules. The only difference is that the "Basic" module does not

require a dongle.

2 Start TIS-Office and log on as usual.

3 Select "Utilities > Software Key".

All the modules installed on the computer will be displayed.
