TIS-Office Upgrades

You can use a database created with an earlier TIS-Office version without

losing any data. However, you must restore the database using the ToolBox

Restore function and then upgrade it to the database format of the current

TIS-Office version.

If you have not selected the installation program's update function when

updating TIS-Office, you must use this function to upgrade your databases.

For information on how to restore a database please refer to Chapter "Backup

and Restore" on Page 10.

To upgrade the earlier TIS-Office version database:

Create a backup copy of the database before performing a database upgrade.

1 Start ToolBox 2 and enter the login data for the database administrator.

Please refer to the Marginal note "Access to TIS-Office ToolBox 2" on Page 3.

The Main Window For TISOffice DBA window will open.

Stopping the Service

2 Stop the TIS-Office Service.

Right-click on the Service icon in the notification area on the taskbar and select

"Stop" from the shortcut menu. Confirm the message asking you whether you

really want to stop the service with [OK].

3 Click on [TISOffice Upgrades].

The corresponding dialogue box will open.

Upgrade settings

4 Select

– the database that you want to upgrade, e.g. "TISOFFICE", under "Company

Code".

– the upgrade file indicating the database version to be upgraded.

Start upgrade

5 Click on [OK] and confirm the message that the upgrade has been completed

successfully with [OK].
